Abstract

Definition and goals

TANZŌ is a one-of-a-kind social market with distributed ledger technology for hand-made products that ensures transparency within the platform and eliminates any unfair competition, such as wholesale vendors and mass-produced replicate listings. Thanks to TANZŌ, artisans are protected and craftsmanship is guaranteed. In order to ensure that only true artisans can sell their handmade items on the platform and guarantee, for potential buyers, that all products are actually handmade by the artisan who sells them, TANZŌ has designed a verification process of identity.

The main objective of TANZŌ is to become a synchronized social platform, based on a completely decentralized trust system, which ensures that all parties involved in any transaction are equally protected.

In combination with the blockchain technology, TANZŌ uses geolocation and time stamp functionality to verify the identity and authenticity of each new craftsman, as well as each new item. In this way, all artisans are real and sell their own handmade products under their own name.

With the use of smart contracts, the integrated review system of TANZŌ is based on the records of each transaction between buyer and seller, which ensures that all revisions of the articles come from people who have actually purchased the item. This smart contracts system is responsible for registering artisans and their products in the blockchain by complying with predefined conditions. In this way, each product purchase is recorded in the blockchain as a transaction.
